a strange definition of the word "genius". but hey, we've already established that you can change what a word actually means to suit your "point".

    which is nice.
Oh I knew I'd get "how is he genius when he just references stuff".

    Either way...he's a fucking genius.

i used to really like it, but after i watched the first three seasons on dvd too many times, i went rite of it - and the fact that they've now completely butchered the show has made me not want to watch it at all, gave up on it two episodes ago and haven't missed it one bit

American Dad is/was the nuts but seems to be going in the same direction
To me, American Dad has gotten 10 times better. I hated it at first.

Either way, I agree. The show isn't geared to toward non-Americans or youngsters.
I'm surprised anyone with the mentality of a non-youngster would sit in front of these sort of slow witted moving coloured pictures, but you did say it wasn't geared towards non-Americans

    It's funny. Pretty simple.

things are quiet until hitler decides he'd like to invade russia
    so, he does
the russians are like "OMG WTF D00DZ, STOP TKING"
and the germans are still like "omg ph34r n00bz"
the russians fall back, all the way to moscow
and then they all begin h4xing, which brings on the russian winter
the germans are like "wtf, h4x"

I don't watch the show, but the old hack is that comedy comes full circle.

Comedy is not a great line, but a reference to and an articulation of what has come before.

This may be lost if you have not shared his prior experience and will be added to if you have.

An unexpected reference to something one has thought forgetten by time is really satisfying and a bond therefore formed.

These comedic shows exist on double entredres.

The literal jokes appeal to the kids, the references appeal to their parents.
Aren't we in the trust tree, thingey?

So you consider Seth McFarlane a genius, cool.

It's a word I tend to use more sparingly.

Why would I consider him a genius? When I said that I don't " watch the show" was that too vague, at all?

    I've never watched the show.

What a ridiculous statement, I was talking about the principles of comedy.
