UK...... its still an issue but I've just tried to install newzbin so I'll see if thats any different
This same problem is happening with me. (upper Midwest of US) The last 600 kb to one meg is taking f o r e v e r. I am assuming that Newshosting is throttling back due to some unstated ceiling on amount downloaded. If this doesn't stop I will switch to Giganews.
