    I'm starting 2 loose hair from the frustration....
    I don't want 2 format but i can see that that's my only solution.
    this isn't my comp.
    I think I'll try the owner of the comp 2 start using Firefox.

    Yup, he just needs to loose that initial inertia. Then he gets used to Fireferret and discovers it's better that IE

    Changing the browser isn't the answer, you need to get IE working first, then change browsers if you want.

    My suggestion would be, uninstall IE6, your AV and firewall(also disable your MS firewall), then reinstall them, see if that works.

    I format the hd & reinstalled everything.....
    Fin.

    Newsflash for ppl that don't know it already: Firefox can be hacked, attacked by as many spyware & viruses as IE. Well if u now agree with me u can try this splendid browser called: Avant Browser
