We use the one cooks, one cleans rule too. Really, I get the better deal because I like cooking.
However, what people who don't cook don't understand is that we may not want to be using all the utensils out of sheer maliciousness...it's that whatever dish may require a lot of preperation or someone hasn't properly stocked the cupboards with the appropriate tools for the job. Not that I'm fully expecting this to be read and then have a nicely stocked kitchen afterwards.:
