    I had the same problem , although start up was fine.. as the OP didnt mention , it was the ShutDown that took forever.

    One thing i did was disable my net connection , before i tried to shut down.. and it got a little faster. so then i...

    I am pedantic and would reboot and scan with the same program again after the reboot , and and do the same with each scan.

    apart from a bunch of uneccesary programs loading into your Systray, that just WONT shut down...

    I bet thats your problem.

    Maybe the computer is in use, try to turn off updates or any other program that is running.
