Disk 1 is labeled as “BAD” what does this mean. Everything seems to run fine
Only when I try to merge or format disk 2 with partitionmagic I get an error that windows can not be found which almost sound like partitionmagic can’t find the windows installed on disk 1.
This is really no big deal, I really just curious about what BAD means and the yellow halo around disk 1

what do you mean by hdd tool?
I did run Error-Check through Windows and nothing was wrong.
is there a better tool I should use?

I use software like Norton Windoctor or TuneUps Disk Doctor. Barts Boot cd has many harddrive utilities from Mfg 's. like Seagate , Maxtor, Samsung, Western Digital . Mabye a check disk or reboot will sort it .

I don't use the partion tools much anymore , with 250 gb hdd 's it seems rather pointless .

I had the same problem and I started to use Acronis Disk Director, it is better.
