Important question:
Can fish live in soup?
I mean, can they breathe in it?

I'd bet on a saltwater catfish or a shark.
from my own reasoning-
no, fish need oxygen, however some fish are more tolerant of low-oxygen water,
soup has a very low percentage of oxygen depending on the recipe, soup is thick therefore making it hard for the fish to breathe out of its gills, thus making it extremly difficult for the fish to swim, so the answer is no.

Just what is 'important' about this question?

Me thinks someone won a goldfish at the local carnival and "in the name of science" conducted an experiment.
Think/do first, ask questions later.
i bet those goldfish crackers can stay alive in soup.
