Can anyone recommend a cheap server to get started on. I can only afford about $30 dollars and looking ideally to try for a month so pref no setup fee.

what about leeware: vps 100 or tz100 (will either one be ok?)

http://www.dediboxinternational.com/ is good to start with, its the basic system unmetered and 160gb hd.

pay about £40/$80, i guess. Find a mate to share it with.

$30 a month isn't quite enough for a decent seedbox. if you really can't spend more you should look into splitting it with someone

It can be. It depends on the users requirements.
