Thread: Nero 6 Is Out

  1. #11
Nero BurnRights program is not available for download anymore frmo their site. I wonder why? Does Nero 6 take away the need for a separate BurnRights program to add burning privileges for limited users that doesn't have admin rights?

    I have some questions:

    1) I have a keygen for Nero 6.0.0.0 (US Retail version). Will this still work with Nero 6.0.0.9 version available for download from Nero website?

    2) Will the keygen unlock all three web installations available for download from the Nero website, i.e. Burning ROM Suite, NeroVision Express and NeroMIX?

    3) My current Nero 5.5.9.17 version works perfectly. Are there any known bugs or problems with the new Nero 6.0.0.9 that I should be aware of before deciding to upgrade to the new version?

    Thanks.

    one thing...

DO NOT UPGRADE V5 to V6...UN-INSTALL V5 AND THEN INSTALL V6...THE KEYS FOR V5 IS DIFFERENT THAN V6...

    1- Ok it works
2 - I had to open NeroMIX first in demo and then enter the serial number after that. It doesn't allow me to enter it in the original serial prompt screen but no big deal as long as the demo can be unlocked. I think the previous versions of NeroMIX also worked this way, so nothing new with Nero 6. You do have to enter it in all three applications separately. I thought that unlocking Nero Burning ROM will unlock all three since they are all a part of the Nero 6 Ultra suite.
3 - Yes? Then what bugs or problems. I noticed some minor things like it creating an empty "User's Guides" menu item etc. I do believe that Nero 5.5 is still more stable even though Nero 6 has new features.

One warning. I detected that Nero tries to connect immediately after the initial start according to my McAfee Firewall and checks for updates. Disabling the automatic update option is advisable because it also checks for serials and downgrade the software back to demo after each upgrade. I usually burn all the good useful software onto a CD and use that thereafter for installations. I wonder whether we can use the same installers at all after their expiry unlike the earlier demos.

I had a feeling that Nero postponed the Nero 6 launch to do something like online automatic checking to prevent software privacy and the inclusion of Nero Recode was not the real reason for it. That is why I'm trying to get hold of the previous retail version. I believe that the new retail version will also have some sort of thing that tries to connect immediately after installation to check the validity of serial.

It does not check serial numbers after install unless maybe you try to install an update. Don't worry about it so much. Mine's been in for two weeks and It talks to the server when it needs to. No knocks on the door, no downgrades, I know what it's communicating and there's nothing sinister about it.
