After unpacking the files from CD to HD, goto the "bin" folder that was created during the unpacking process and run "mgs2.exe" not "MGS2SSetup.exe" or "mgs2_sse.exe" and it should play fine then.

And you don't need a DVDRom to play it, just the 5CD's and over 7GB of HD space :-)

Also, i've got an Athlon 1GHz with half Gig of ram and it play's fine for me :-)
