What does it mean when you can download via ssh?
im assuming the person who said this was referring to using ssh to tunnel his network connections of bittorrent through another box to the internet.
you do this by setting up a proxy hosted on your localmachine that points to the other box to which you are connected via ssh and then you just point anything you want to use that proxy with to localhost:whateverport
also, you can download via ssh by logging in ssh to another box and using a command based program called rtorrent...which is what i do!
hope this answered your question.
just a guy who doesn't like to pay for movies....or video games...or software...or television...or music...you know, just like everyone else!
Not really it's a little confuseing i was reading about it on wiki and i have no idea what it is. One of the torrent sites i am a member of has two options download torrent or download ssh
i just wanted to know what it does or what the difference is if i download the files
yea i have seen this ssh on SCC,but i never know what is for
http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/
the download ssh link will cooperate with wget so from a terminal you can do:
wget http://torrentsiteurl.com/download/torrentkljsfljf
and it will download the torrent file, otherwise it wont work
