The whole issue here is really whether trackers or uploaders have a right to place copyrights on their content, which is obviously a ridiculous notion on its face.

I only sell invites on ebay, sorry guys, so dont bother pm'ing me.
On some sites with specialised content, where uploaders rip things themselves, there is an option to keep the rip exclusive to the tracker. And another to allow it to be shared freely. Seems sensible.
I don't like to see packs with the name of other trackers on them for example you can find:
pack-SCT or pack-FTN on quite a few smaller trackers.
Now go away.
you can be an uploader in goem if you want to
just because its uploaded on those first, doesnt mean the upload of another site steals it from those (if you can call it stealing)
FTP AXX
FTP dumps
Usenet
there are a few places uploaders can get the same release from, not just from another tracker.
I don't really get what you are saying here. Does the scene have some kind of power over what can be done with files that are stolen in the first place?
I'm not an uploader anywhere, but if I was then the files I wouldn't upload anywhere else, packed or unpacked, would be exclusive uploads, which are for the most part rare userrips and have nothing to do with scene in any way. The sites I'm talking about are sites that ask you to follow the uploaders wishes and ask permission before spreading.
Its just respect to the scene.
Now lets say you download a scene release, unrar it, burn it, 2 years later you re-rip it and re-rar it, then of course you shouldnt say thanks to the scene or name it the scene release.
But if you get a 0 day release, or you download a scene release from 5 years ago and then upload it, you should keep it as is, and name the torrent as such.
I hate seeing a torrent called Halo_XBOX_NTSC.torrent and you look at the files and they are the same files that the scene released years ago.
and why should anyone get permission from anyone, its not yours anymore, and it was never the trackers.
so i would have to get permission from you to share it on emule, kazaa, or even burn a copy for my friend/family.
its a load of crap, once its uploaded, and its snatched, its not yours or the trackers anymore.
