can anyone tell me what more does these sites offer (except the ability to browse files) than the emule built-in search engine ?

Verified links? You can be sure you won't be downloading a fake before you even add it.

well, i exclusively use emule for stuff i can't find anywhere else so i have little chance to stumble upon fake files - the films i'm looking for are generally available in no more than 1 or 2 versions.

That explains these sites not being so useful for you, the rarer the content, the less people will bother to put up fakes.

On the other side, I'd have loved to know about these back when I downloaded a "Norton SystemWorks" ISO in 2002 and it ended up being a renamed AVI of a porn movie...
