I just watched the first 3 episodes and cant get enough.

Meet the fabulously dysfunctional Gallagher family. Dad's a drunk, Mom split long ago, eldest daughter Fiona tries to hold the family together. Eldest son Philip (Lip) trades his physics tutoring skills for sexual favors from neighborhood girls. Middle son Ian is gay. Youngest daughter Debbie is stealing money from her UNICEF collection. Ten-year-old Carl is a budding sociopath and an arsonist, and toddler Liam is - well, he might actually be black, but nobody has a clue how.

Good series quite funny at times if sort of standard HBO "give them a bit of sex and profanity to prove we're cable " fare . Based on the British series( what isn't) of the same name http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377260/

Another good "based on Brit " series is Being Human if you like your supernatural with a bit angst and humanity.

Really liked this show, I already finished the season and am waiting for the next. Now Misfits isn't based on a a British original, it IS a British original, and it's great. 6 episodes each season (and a special at the end of S02), I recommend watching it before it gets adopted. It's a superhero show that gives a bunch of delinquents and other random people unique super powers. Think 4400, but without a grand scheme, and a more realistic crude tone.

Based on what I saw here, I'd say Misfits are nothing like The Inbetweeners. Misfits is comedic in a very non sitcom-y way. I think it's a show you'll know you like based on S01E01, if it doesn't grab you there it simply won't grab you at all.

i dunno tom green has a peculiar sense of humor. The show looks kind of funny but the kids look a little strange. The kid with the curly hair looks like the only funny one.

Yeah his character leans heavily toward the annoying the crap out of everyone else angle, but ultimately he's effin hilarious.

You can make them yourselves at some websites ... just google for 'userbars' and you'll find a ton of them.

By the way ... Yesterday I watched the first episode of Shameless UK and I really liked it (and the missus too).
Gonna watch the whole 8 seasons before I start with Shameless US.

@ OP and Idol: Thx again for bringing this to my attention.
