Hey all I have xp home and I also got pro burnt to disk. When I install pro will it change my registry tweeks I have done?? Do I have to do a cleaan install ?? It gives me the option to do the upgrade in it..

Depending on what you already have installed on your box you may want to try an upgrade. No sense in reinstalling all your favorite apps just to upgrade to xp pro (unless you have spanned drives). Even though it is 10 times better than home edition.

A clean install? I dont think so. 
What if he doesnt do backups or have spanned volumes then he'll have to reinstall all his programs that he had before.

I have my programs backed up on disk. and I dont have portions on my hard drive. I can reformat but that will take a long time. If I do reformate that will wipe my regisrty tweeks. If I do a upgrade will that wipe my tweeks???

No matter how you proceed, Yes! Your "tweaks"(?) will be overwritten as they should be. What works for one OS won't often work for another.

your new installation of XP will be only thing on ya drive, it will build a completly new registry, you will have to re install all ya programs and get all the updates from windows site, also is your xp pro the corporate version? if not it will need activating, if it not ligit the "blue list" keygen will make a new key for ya but you may have to try a few to get it activated, you could back up your registry to disc and then import it with regedit after you have re installed ya programs but i wouldnt recommend it!
oh and formatting shouldnt take to long but recommend not using the quick option.
