Thread: Anyone been caught by MPPA/RIAA on private sites?

  1. #21
Take care about the trackers you use...

I think the biggest problem is when a tracker is seized... and all his members are fucked up (snatched history and so on... basically they have a complete confession inside the tracker database...)

public trackers instead do not keep a database that says that you have uploaded xxxmb of that file and yyymb of the other file...

that's just what happened to oink users that got "raped"... and nobody knows if they will stop to those uploaders or if they will go further and assrape all the UK users.....

lol, there is only one thing about a database of a private tracker.. it cannot be considered evidence as the sysop could have been editing everything anyways (atleast in a country with real judges )
i havent been caught and dont plan on being caught.. and i cant imagine that they go after one that even gets disabled for inactivity at tl

Yeah I also dont think the database can be used as evidence.
There are so many things u can consider:
    1. U can like me have been in another country where DL & UL copyrighted material was not illegal
    2. U could have been trading the accounts, which well can happen
    3. The SysOp could have changed manually the database

So I dont think u can be convicted if u arent caught on act, UL material

Will be nice too see from where the UK police got the infos to make the arrests about oink uploaders...
don't you think it's quite strange that they got arrested AFTER the police ended to analyze oink site? if they had catched them with other ways they would have arrested them way before... with no need to take down the site....

anyway most tbdev installations around keeps everything... even your IP and client used on a certain torrent.
take a look at the "completed torrents" section on hdbits

yes ... everything can be faked...

Canada is a safe heaven - isp's block MPPA/RIAA , and by law are not required to
give out customer information in canada

However a new law being pass right now in the commons, may change all that
but for now CANADA is 10 times safer than the states

    P.S - Feel unsafe - use PROTOWALL

    2) Don't upload pre-release torrents. (This is what happened in Oink).
    3) Don't immediately jump on the newest hottest movies and don't seed forever (If you jump on new torrents, the alphabet boys might be taking notes of all the IPs on that new movie or whatever. Also, the longer your IP is exposed, the more vulnerable you are, especially if you are one of only a few seeders).
    4) Don't worry, think about all these users who have uploaded TBs and realize that even though you upload a lot, you're a very, very small target.
you mean dont use torrent , right?
    c'mon lol

how is that safer? download .torrent, join swarm, view IP addresses. hiding your name on the site offers no security at all.

edit: you don't even have to download/upload any data to other peers to get a list of IP address on a torrent.
It seems to me that having my name & ip address known to authorities, as well as how much I've uploaded, how long I've been on the torrent, etc. is much more damaging than just joining the swarm and having a list of IP addresses...

@ predateur, I don't know wtf you're talking about...I use torrents according to these guidelines (as much as possible).

the only thing that is safe to download is porn. everything else leaves you at risk so you should exclusively download porn.
