Ok so Im not much into this kind of filesharing, but Id like a way to share mainly music without viruses. Is that possible? I had an horrible experience with BearShare a long time ago and since then I gave up this kind of filesharing.
    Advices are appreciated

Well viruses shouldn't be much of a problem, just make sure you don't download executables (you can also filter them out in LimeWire).
Basically Gnutella is the biggest network, both LimeWire and Ares are typical mp3 software, so they are mostly for 'mainstream' music.

I find some older music easier to find with SoulSeek but the wife prefers Frostwire . Why not just try both ?

As for the virus issue, it's important that you always download and run/play an actual MP3 file and not something that just looks like an MP3, but is really a virus-in-disguise that ends with a [hidden] executable file extension such as .exe or .ini or .scr. (With a real MP3, there is no possibility of it being infected with a virus.)

Set your Windows Explorer settings in "folder options"/"view" and uncheck "hide file extensions for known file types" so all file extensions will be visible. (the default Windows setting stupidly hides file extensions)

Also stay away from .WMA/.WMV files. They can be infected by exploiting the container's DRM capability.
