I'm adept at just about all things file sharing, or cracking related but this particular problem is new to me. Learning as I go so I'm just being extra cautious as there is a lot of work on this PC that I cannot afford to lose.

I'll check out that link in the PM as well.

    Here goes nothin....

edit - It says its changing the key but it doesn't actually appear to. The program says it has successfully changed the key, but if I exit and reopen it, the "Current Windows Product Key" is the same old key, not the new one.

    Yes. Off to reboot now.

Key is still the same. I'm gonna try again.

    "New key is set!"

    Wrong... still the old key.

I can't even find a program with that name.

edit - I'm not surprised it doesn't work. Read the reviews for this shit - http://www.bestsoftware4download.com...-opauchzb.html

edit2 - OK, I've found a copy of keyfinder 1.4 that has the option to change keys, but it won't let me. I've tried 2 different keygens to no avail and I've tried the key that you PM'd me peat. It just keeps saying

"An error has occurred. This was probably caused by the keying of an invalid number. Please check it and try again.

edit3 - Done. I found an old XP Home key that I had and changed it manually in the registry and crossed my fingers. I'm now all up to date but the visual style I've used since 2005 no longer works though.

Step 1: Download latest windows xp iso from softarchive or torrents

Step 2: Install it over your current installation or format the c drive and install. It's your choice

Step 3: After installing immediately apply the WGA crack ( I know u don't like it but it works great )

THX FOR THE LINK, BUT PLEASE READ THE RULES

Step 4: Put automatic updates to "Notify me but don't automatically install or download updates"

Step 5: After some time few updates will come. In those updates WGA will be there. Please don't download that one and set the option to "Don't notify me again about this update".

Step 6: After that you are good to go. You can download all the updates you want
