Cable is to expansive, so not tv here, I get the shows and watch what I like.
I don't like sports so I am good there. Even with the antena and all that I hate watching anything with commercials, it is frustating.

My tv is big and heavy.
It stands on a small table, with thin legs.
We use it to watch in real life family movies
    dust loves it.
for local news we use jlc

Yep, they should have an 'on' switch the size of a Frisbee for idiots like you.

Well, I've been moved for 2 months now and don't even really miss my TV or feel the strong desire for another.

I get all my shows from Usenet now and watch them on the PC shortly after they air; nothing new there.

I'm finding myself going out more and doing things that I might not normally. Does anyone here live TV free or gone any long duration without? Did you end up getting one?

I'm considering holding out until football season starts in the Fall.
I don't watch any TV. It's there for my roommate, really.

Only thing I'll accept to watch is BBC News now and again. Other than that the TV shows I follow are all taken from the scene.

I think you're doing a great thing. Frankly, the TV set is a source of entertainment, but, to be sure, that entertainment can be ascertained with good films and novels.

It's a huge source of time wasting when you think about it.

But then again, so is wondering the internet aimlessly..

But on the internet you find everything, not only movies, books, you always learn something. You can find people you didn't keep in touch for the last 20 years, on tv it is always the samething.

Can they really do that, you're a scientist so I know you won't lie.
Well I have no empirical evidence, but I do know people who watch such things are rarely of much interest to me.

That doesn't really help does it?

I have a TV but I got rid of my freeview box and canceled the free TV package with Virgin (harder than you'd think) so I don't have to pay the TV license. Been that way since November and I haven't missed it at all. I just watch movies, TV shows and porn via PC on the TV ...

I moved about 6 months ago to where I am now. We have loads of telly channels here. Before that i'd never had a tellybox in my life. I much preferred it that way.

These days I find myself watching Hull v Tottenham and shite like that.
    Now go away.
