Well to answer the question it depends which chip you get their is quiet a few out their. But most of them do play VCD, SVCD all you have to do is read, ask! Also waiting for a PS3 will take another 2 years at least and why bother with a PS3 when their is going to be a XBOX 2 . Also why in the hell is this in movieworld? Also shouldn't this be in gameworld or hardwareworld I know it is about playing about VCD & SVCDs but something is telling me it's in the wrong place.

there is a thing for ps2 that networks your ps2
but you got to have a the sony ps2 usb converter
and it has to be a cetrain fram rate & quailty

Its a media player for the PS2 (must be modded) It does'nt play VCDs but it does do DivX/XviD (AC3 or MP3 sound) MP3s, Oggs and jpegs.
I've been using it for about a year now with no problems.
