    That akasa cooler is less than 28db, so it's fairly quiet.

    I've had a look at the layout of the gigabyte ga-7va board and I can't see any reason why there shoud be a problem fitting that cooler either. At the base, it is the same size as a 6cm cooler, but gets larger after it has cleared any obstructions.

    my current 7 x 7cm heatsink just fits there some room, but one of the diodes cames fairly close.

    @ lynx do u mean 60 x 60?]

    Edit: looking at the motherboad i realised a cooler 80 x 60 could fit! but a 80 x 80 i would have no chance with!

    I use a thermaltake volcanoe 9 and see pretty good results on my XP2200+ CPU which is overclocked to about 1960 mhz from 1800.

    Yes, at the base it is 60x60, I have the same problem with caps next to the processor, and it fits without any problem.
