you are good, but only a certain percentage will guess 7. Reminds me of that show on discovery channel or TLC where david blaine asked someone to pick a number, and he guessed it was 37

precisely, since the
2+2
4+4
8+8
16+16
are all addition questions, your mind automatically thinks of algebra and taking one number and adding it to itself

since it says 12 and 5 INSTEAD of 5 to 12, ur brain spontaneously would/should subtract it since it is a higher number minus a lower number

i got 7 too, but nevertheless, it is all statistical
