My comment to the Mods.

Your function here is too keep the board tidy and productive. A productive forum is kept healthy by removing offensive content and spam.

There has been too much emphasis on your role of closing offensive threads and breaking up fights and not enough on your main role: killing the spammers.

I have seen several sites killed by these people, who move in advertising their own sites, posting false links which redirect to their site, etc.. These sites could not afford moderators so 99/100 posts were spam. In dispair, people left.

Posters like netweiser are the most dangerous threat to the integrity and longevity of our forum and should be dealt with harshly. The forum does provide a signature area where people can advertise and provide a link to their sites, that is generous enough.

People don't leave a forum because someone called them a "turd burgler", they leave because all the threads are corrupted with advertisements and redirects and all the thread titles are bogus.
