The k-lite codec pack has nothing to do with windows movie maker. It should be able to make movies effeciently without you having the k-lite codec pack or any other codec pack, but it cant make movies at all because it crashes all the time.

ok boss but next time you wanna look smart try to say something smart, lite IKE, read his post, understand the klike codec pack and then tell me if your post holds water or not

I had the same problem some time ago and it was the damn DIVX aniti-freeze.
uninstall it and try again
