Thread: How to go about making requests for content?

  1. #1
I made a post for a request for television series in a.b.multimedia, but that is such a large group that the request probably just got lost.

Is there a certain site or special way of going about making requests to the good people that are nice enough to take their time uploading material?

When you request something on efnet you should get a request id. To check if it has been filled type the request number in on binsearch or join the channel again with the same nick you request with and you should be able to check the status of your request.

    Oh...make requests through IRC...I didn't know that.
    Thanks...

I got MIRC off of bittorrent years ago but never used it for anything. I guess I got some reading to do now and figure it out.

Ah I assumed you made a request in the IRC channel. Don't waste your time with message board requests to a group, I used to make them and nobody ever replies. Request stuff on IRC is the way to go and there's a great guide here

An Excerpt from: A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace
    by John Perry Barlow
Governments of the Industrial World, you weary giants of flesh and steel, I come from Cyberspace, the new home of Mind. On behalf of the future, I ask you of the past to leave us alone. You are not welcome among us. You have no sovereignty where we gather [...] I declare the global social space we are building to be naturally independent of the tyrannies you seek to impose on us.
