    Ok lets start again go to System Properties - Device Manager - Cd Properties(name of drive) - settings now you will see dma plus other things tick dma if not already done.

    thats a negative....i open device manager, then rightclick->properties on any of the cd or hdd and i dont get any settings tab and/or button

    Right looking what you have underneath I think your on XP yes if so someone esle will have to help you there I only had it on for a weekend then took it back off didn't really have enough time to have a good look around everything,sorry.

    well i still dont get any udma option....so i guess the problem still there

    I just been reading the short cut theres many there with your problem have you tried any of their ideas?
    I'am Me and have no troubles PiO is no good at all thats too slow thats the reason IF thats what is happening.Make sure you have the leastest controler drivers on.

    well i deleted the drivers, but no good result...just the same problem.... but yea now that you talk about that, my pc HAS been slow lately

    Sorry been having some food right I just done a test I am on net like you and nothing esle like downloading etc with 7200 prm h/drive p4 2.4 512 ddr mem' it took 2min 20 to crossload a movie of 702 megs,with my old 1000 celeron and 512 sdram it took aroud 3mins 30 secs this was slower if doing anything esle too, see what you get now I am in DMA mode.

    i CANT get in dma mode...i dont have the option, i already made xp reinstall drivers, but no solution.....

    look this is what i just burned.....time is 8 mins

    Yep I understand I only have a x24 and I cut at x16 for movies takes 5 mins tops in and out GOT to be down to the dma as how to get it on Xp well someone will know I'd sit tight or come back later to see,one day Xp or maybe this Longhorn will be going on till then I am quite happy with Me.
