Old shit was here. Now it's gone.
There aren't enough actual Winter sports to make a good case for having a Winter Olympics so they had to get creative.
That still doesn't explain why there are all these weird ,artificial and slow strokes in swimming but they keep turning down my petition to make the three legged and potato sack races actual track events.
Let me be the first to say, what the fuck are you on about?

As expected the US womens team completely dismantles Sweden. Canada beats Switzerland as well, but perhaps a little more close of a game than people were expecting. A trio of goals in less than 4 minutes was a little too much for Switzerland to overcome even though their play wasn't as exceptional the rest of the game.
Also in mens hockey, a very interesting call by the refs that had huge implications for the rest of the tournament as USA went on to win the shootout: http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/ref...in-goal-russia
Curious if you had any thoughts on that call Idol?
I didn't watch as traitor that I am,I'm not really big on team sports.
Except for relays and the obvious NASCAR.

Didn't you watch Vancouver lose to the Bruins or something else.
Nope.I did however watch the Tour of Oman.

I didn't watch the entire game so I don't know if the score is a poor indicator of how the game went in general, but Canadia barely eeked out a win over Latvia 2-1 with a goal late in the 3rd.
However from what I did catch of it the Latvian goalie looked absolutely exhausted after stopping well over 50 shots to keep the game tied.
USA plays Canada on the 21st, it's a shame we couldn't end up on opposite sides of the bracket.
Canada is neither able to outskate or outwork most teams in the tournament and on the larger ice surface that counts for a lot.Just ask the Russians.
The Latvians did a very good job of collapsing in around their goalie and although that led to an unbelievable 90% of the play taking place in their zone,it didn't allow for many open shots and even fewer rebounds.Rebounds where the one thing the Canadians do have going for them, besides ice "smarts" ,size didn't come into effect.
Against the US who is again a better skating team,it likely will come down to who is more motivated. In the final, who knows?Who cares?
Personally I'm all for the egoless underdogs and at last count there weren't a lot of those left.
