Why do we still pay(TAX) for bin collections when the council(s) are making a packet from recycle and green waste?

the tax is not enough to pay the 'fat cats'. Soon they will be collecting rubbish because there will be no employees left. Unless we will be required to hook our wheelie bins on to the lorry and press the button. Whoops I have inadvertently given them ideas.

If they ran the elections out of their own pockets and not ours the yes but I can`t see that happening.
Why do restaurants have a corking charge for bottles with screw on caps? .... OK maybe this one should of been saved for the silly question thread but what the hell

they are treated badly because they treat the environment badly. If only they would clean up after their short stays. I think the councils should ask for an upfront payment to facilitate the clean up. it would be interesting to try that out.

My wife has always had the better carI do a lot of miles so generally have a throw away bit of scrap. Did have a nice BMW323i as a company car once but my tax code went to a K and I owned the taxman money before I even started.... great system
Does your elec/gas supplier offer those free smart meters 'on demand' like the advert says (UK thing) or are you like me and have to wait a year or so on a random area list?

they are on free offer. not too keen to hand over control to firms who will screw you into the ground and make thank them for the chance.
