I'd like to comment on this please.

I'm still pretty much a "noob" I think (I don't know at what point the honeymoon is over) and one thing I've become aware of in the K-Lite Forums as compared to other forums I visit is an apparent heirarchy and condescension toward newcomers (aka: noobs, noobies, newbies...whatever). I see it almost with each visit. A "noob" looks to the experienced for a guiding hand until all his/her elementary questions are answered and they are comfortable then in using KL and all it's functions.

I would like to believe we are all here for one purpose, to share information and suggestions on how to better use and enjoy the K-Lite experience and not to be looked down upon because we may not have enough "Stars" or know the secret handshake.
Does there need to be a "pecking order"?

Yes, I realize this is the Lounge and informal conversation is encouraged but this "noob" thing bothers me just a little.

Thanks,
mrlessk

I think you need to learn to interpret the use of smilies a little better (another common noob mistake )

The fact that he used the smilie indicated he wasn't serious about it.

I agree wholeheartedly.
"nOOb, newbie shitstick..." are all terribly denigrating terms.

I much prefer chrysalis.

I think there are far too many sections now, codecs should go back into movieworld as funky says, and all the new file sharing worlds put into one "other p2p" section other than bittorent and E-mule, as they are the most popular, would make the board a whole lot cleaner
