Ok, you will need to buy a router,
connect the modem to the router,
then output the router to both the pc and the x-box, and all this will be done using ethernet cabling.
"Where did he go, George, Where did he go?"
what if i used both the usb and ethernet on my cable can it be its own sorta built in router

No, modems are not built like a router,Originally posted by Duffman3@22 December 2003 - 01:43

Routers know exactly where to send the data too, and a cable modem just sends it, to be truthful, I don't even think you could hook up USB and Ethernet at the same time on a modem, you can do either/or, but not both.
Now you could set your computer up as a router but you will need two Ethernet cards in the pc in order for this to work, be allot cheaper though.
Although, now that I think of it, you may not, since it's USB and you already have a Ethernet, you maybe able to hook the modem up to your pc using USB, and the pc to the X-box using Ethernet and run the pc as a router for it.
However, I've never tried this, or seen it tried, so I can't say for sure.
I'll have to search the net, and see what I can find.
