Fancy new plug for hard drives? You better get reading up on things a bit.

ATA IDE supports up to 133mgh. SATA supports up to 150 mgh at the moment. It's the newest industry standard and will soon replace ATA much the same as DMA and UDMA replaced PIO.

Get a non SATA motherboard now and in a year it'll be the equivalent of having a windows 95 (or 98 and older) compliant board. Are you familliar with the problems those presented when upgrading?

You can upgrade to SATA later with the addition of a controller chip but it'll almost double the cost of the upgrade at that time.
