    For us in the UK that is a distant future, only now has almost the entire country been ADSL enabled at 512K and this is achived through copper wires . Maybee a new form of satilite will our option.

    there are quicker services available in the uk if you shop around. I've seen 2 Mb/s advertised at just under £30 ($45).

    That is really far away I think - maybe 1oo years or so... or not, probably it is possible, but it would be quite quite expensive.

    BTW satilite is being used in rural areas atw, with the best services being 1Mbit and going little beyond that, also the service is expensive and you may need to rent the equiptment.

    Satellite is fast, however, it sucks for gaming... it takes it almost a second to send a request and receive a response, therefore making it impossible to play games like SC and CS where packets are sent every few milliseconds.

    On a side note, how do you like my new sig Mogadishu ?
