shes no dream girl, she just has some great vocals.
In my earlier post I was looking for any great female vocalists in the rock genre and she stood out from the crowd.
The Muffs has a snottier vocalists i enjoy more than Kim anyway

I was refering to the quiet verse / loud chorus template which definded rock music at the time grunge exploded. Pixies used it first, Cobain copied it from them, everyone copied it from him.
Decent list, do you count the Velvets, Television and Rolling Stones among? I always considered Kiss a stadium rock band. Contrary to popular opinion I always thought solo Iggy made a greater influence on todays alternative rock than punk scene (Brick by Brick excepted). Also Bowie's Berlin album trilogy he made with Eno reinvented people's perception of music. The likes of Kraftwerk and Neu were making electronic music earlier but Bowie/Eno showed it could be combined with traditional instruments and accepted by general music buying folk. This was 1977, just look at what happened in the early 80s.
