hl2 (sourcecode thingy, forgot if it's an alpha or not, the one that was password protected) worked on me comp.:

1.2 ghz AMD
384 mb ram (ddr)
ati radeon 9600 128 mb (damn bottleneck of a comp. i got )
win xp

when i started it up, i expected to stutter like hell, so instinctivly i pointed my mouse down so the screen would look to the floor , to my surprise ran very damn smooth, didn't stutter even once, so i expect the beta to be even better.

Only bad thing about this beta from suprnova is that the guy riped out lots of the sounds. Or maybe it&#39;s just me. But of course the file was smaller than the original I had. This one doesn&#39;t make gunshot sounds, doesn&#39;t have the buggy&#39;s motor sound...no walking sounds. Has other sounds like impact, and some of the AI talking but...

I haven&#39;t followed thru all the threads on Half Life2
but i saw the preview video a while ago and thought it looked Amazing, with revolutionary new stunts.

So is it?
or is it just another shooter?

the game will be amazing, looking at the trailers and stuff you can interact with nearly everything and the storey look really good... check out some of the trailers and stuff and u will be impressed. my favorate one is the half life demo trialer at gamespy. Its about 600 mb but is really good
