    You&#39;ll notice that, as an American, I was more interested in my increased speed.

    Were I greener (read: culturally superior European), I would have noted that my fuel economy had improved.

    Such are our differences.

    I thought you meant insofar as it applied to self-propulsion (running, cycling, rowing, etc.).

    Of course, on that basis, better fuel economy might well be assumed: If, prior to hair loss, one Big Mac will fuel a burst of, say 15 MPH, and post hair-loss, a Big Mac netted 17 MPH, a net gain in fuel economy has also occurred.

    If you were a "culturally superior European", I would assume that, instead of Big Macs, we&#39;d be basing our calculations on the intake of, say, snails, or possibly eggplant, fish and chips, or some such.
