Encoding Videos

Can anyone tell me how to get around video freezes. I am encoding avi to DVD using DV2sVCD and Tempgen. However, sound runs out sync after a video freeze. Can anyone tell me or point me to a link to cure this problem.

First off would have been better in Softwareworld in order to give you better quicker answers ANYWAY go here and make sure before you convert to get rid(repair) any bad frames.
