Useless? It buggers up the links man
Yeah, I mean how many sites include the word "torrent" and are not direct links to torrent documents?

And I've linked to torrentstorm before... unless they recently added a new security measure as well.... Doesn't make sense really. Don't they want traffic?

Links to torrent files are not allowed as they act like direct downloads. Links to torrent sites ARE allowed but you have to post the url without the www. part or else the torrent file word replacement will apply.

Explained:

]http://www.server.com/file[torrent files are not allowed]
(wordfiler will apply)

http://torrentsareblah.com/
(will work cause there is no .t o r r e n t)

If you want to post torrent sites just don't add the www. and it will work.

Take alook at the list the filters a bit hit & miss, some that dont have www at the start, have been altered while some havent.
There's also ones that begin with www and contain the word torrent(s)and they've been left untouched.

oh i actually understood it this time, with the . after www and torrent in torrentstorm, it creates [torrent files are not allowed], yeah yeah laugh all you waant at my stupidity

Changing it to exact won't do anything. That simply mean the string " torrent " will be replaced instead of "torrent" because that means it's an exact word, not contained within a string. That means [torrent files are not allowed] would not be filtered and it'd be against the rules. No torrent link has an extension of ". torrent " to get filtered with. Moderators need to either change the board's coding (which probably cannot be done) or use their own board. Such is a drawback of using a board you didn't make. Has as much customization as my toe does the ability to reproduce.

guess you missed that one

the filter is set to .t o r r e n t (dot torrent) meaning wwwDOTtorrentsite.com is replaced but http://torrentsite.com not

torrent is not filtered - only DOTtorrent is.

Well it WOULD work because with torrentfiles there won't come anything behind the word torrent.

In contrast with website urls where there would be something behind the word 'torrent'
