i have got hard boiled as xvid cd1/2 and 2x .idx and 1x .sub what do i do with these to play both cds and get the subs up. could some one tell me or show me a link please, cheers

You need to install a free program called VOBsub. Once installed, make sure the movie title matches the subtitle file (ex: topgun.avi, topgun.sub...). Once installed the subtitles will be displayed automatically in most players. VOBsub supports: *.sub, *.srt, *.smt). Some *.sub files requires the *.idx to work, which is the index.

cool thanks can they be burnt to a cdr or dvdr with these subs

Yes, the subtitle files are very small.
