Suggestions:

Why not rename this to "Introduce Yourself here" and still call the other forum "The Lounge."

Make some pinned topics in this section that aim at new members. So topics like "How to send pm's and when can I send" & "how to navigate and post in the right section" should be posted in one single pinned topic with title maybe "Board Tutorial" or "Guide to the Board" etc.

Just a thought.

1. Sportsworld should be a sub-topic ALONGSIDE the Lounge, World News and Events. Not sure but Funny Stuff should be in the Lounge. What I mean is just post funny stuff in the Lounge.

3. Leave skins be. I liked the fact of allowing the old skins and new. Nice one.

4. All this damn spamming should MODERATED. I see topics with the sam(e) names (pun intended). Bullshit topics like say some word or just breath....WTF!!!
This is a direct result of how the board is being run. Hell I was ready NOT to post in the Lounge again and go to General Mayhem as a Lounge. It's like watching a bunch of 10 year olds post.
I know it's the Lounge but damn........The Paris Hilton Porno is like the most worthwhile topic there.

5. YOU DON'T NEED A "NEW" LOUNGE.
LOCK THE BULLSHIT AND IT SINKS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN!!!

Yeah the Lounge has just been Crazy the past couple of weeks.I did not say anything to a MOD because I already knew others have.

Well it could be a good idea (there's always a first time I hear) as it will provide a place for the more serious minded people out there and a haven for those who enjoy frivolity (ie spam).

Obviously quite a few members enjoy the "spammier" threads so it makes no sense to have this banned or "LOCK THE BULLSHIT AND IT SINKS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN!!!" I don't come here to be serious, I have real life for that.

But, as I've posted, there should be some rules laid out for the "old" lounge else it will get worse than it is right now. I like to mess around and post jokey threads but I can see that the old lounge will be abused if there aren't at least some apparent rules.

I kinda suggested in a couple of posts about a more serious discussion area but never PM'd anyone or anything....as far as this working it wont unless the users let it...think where the problem with the spam stuff and the lets just type x messages is the post count thingie...altho I wuld not even have my stars if not for the post counting in the lounge..however i have tried to be serious in the serious threads and ignoring the more "lets just post to get stars threads"

I wuld say thats its more difficult to curb sillyness in an area that by defintion "everything goes" like the lounge....

I think sports are part of world events..and I agree that the lounge posts shouldnt count..however I would hope that this area would since I am not really technically savy enuf to post in most of the other areas...also world events should count in my opinion for mostly the same reason..this is mostly a purely selfish logic...however it would encourage a more serious semi-thoughtful forum rather then a more juevenile play pen atmosphere...(which also does have a place in any social setting..a place to let go as it were)

See the whole post count argument that comes up time and again is just silly in my opinion. Most people that I know on this board who post in the lounge that I have spoken to don't care about post counts. In fact it's more of a joke to us.

I mean what can I actually do with it...I can't exactly trade them in for beer tokens can I?

I'd be in favour of removing them altogether just to stop this silly argument coming up time and time again (usually from people who got their post counts up before the change...).
