    looks like i lied!

    the entire c drive corrupted


    which means that my windows OS is still functional. (on an e:\ drive)
    im working on recovering it now...

    You dont have another hard drive you can boot using, and then just set up the 160GB drive as a slave and just view the files? and maybe burn them to CD?

    ANd its a bit hard for me to understand, but I take it you had to reinstall windows because of a supposed corrupted drive? If so, why didnt you leave the current file system intact, instead of reformatting, so all your data, non windows related would still be there?

    fixed it

    lennon i figured that out b4 u posted it. i hooked it up to another comp, and when winXPhome on my friends comp booted, it automatically repaired the hdd


    then i moved it back. lesson learned: install service pack 1!


    now, vb i hope this isnt against the rules, but could some1 pm me a sig2dat link to an activation-hacked full sp1 install?
