Well...when I had to hand in essays they didn't really look at the content of it. With hundreds of them to correct it's nearly impossible to read through all of it...
They just looked at the structure and the logics of the subtitles, possibly the amount of footnotes and references too
EDIT: Weird, I just spent 15 minutes talking to a Belgian friend on the phone and I'm having trouble finding the right structures in English again
