The cpu is the amd duron 1.4ghz 233 , i am using a 400 watt power suplly with the new pc, the old pent II had a 120 watt psu
ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo
Athlon XP 1800+
1 GIG PC3200 DDR400 RAM
WINDOWS XP PRO WITH SERVICE PACK 2
200GIG HARDDRIVE
16X DVD-ROM
DVD-BURNER
EXTERNAL FLOPPY
LIGHT IN CASE
GEFORCE FX 5200 256MB
try using the 120watt psu, but only plug in the motherboard ram cpu and video card, thats it. then try to turn it on and see what happens. if it works then the power supply is faulty. if not then its het motherboard or cpu.Originally posted by DarkClown12@15 March 2004 - 00:48

if the processor is suspected, remove it. the system should post without a chip (if its bad it should still post anyways)

first try turning it off and on several times. if the message doesnt appear anymore then you should be fine. no replacements needed. otherwise, invest 2 bucks in a new CMOS battery. look at the model # on the old one and go to your local electrical store (i.e. a radioshack) and buy it.
ur mobosd fine![]()
ight but i now need a replacement PSU to replace the 400 watt dont i? Even with the error i can still press del and go into the bios set up. The power supply i tested with is a 120 watt . what should i do now?
