i always let nero encode for me and ive never had any problems. but yeah trying a different program to encode might help. and try cd-rs instead if you have any.

first encode it to mpg or vcd. then go into nero and slect teh new mpg file to burn instead of the avi or whatever you were using before.

Just select to burn a video cd as normal.

If you use tmpgenc to encode, nero will usually not ask if you want to encode it and you can just burn it. Even if after you have encoded it with tmpgenc, nero may still ask if you want to encode it, just select to burn it without encoding it and it will work.

Have you tried CD-R yet?

It's worth wasting one (if indeed it is wasted) just to find out if the problem is encoding or media. If it works with CD-R then you know that it doesn't really like CD-RW.

You need a faster data rate for video compared to music. Consequently some players will accept CD-RW for music but can't read them fast enough for video, that may be the problem.

A few people have suggested CD-R and your reply is:
nope, my dvd player can play both CD-R & CD-RW'S. this is weird....wats goin on?
Can I ask you a question? If you know all about this and don't want to accept people's suggestions then why ask here?

yeah maybe but my dvd player plays a minidvd if i made one, and wats the difference between a cd-r and cd-rw? i thought the only difference is that u can erase a cd-rw, is there more 2 that?
