Yes, that's true, but when gaming or processor intensive tasks, yes? Are you gaming?
are you asking me or VB, or both?
if me, then yes, I am gaming...

Yes, but you have an Intel CPU. Not the same animal.

Lets see now according to my bios the next step of core voltage is 1.75 would this get to 2.2ghz?

I'm gaming,

Is there anyway to make the cpu fan go to max speed all the time? With or without Q-fan the cpu fan just keeps going up and down up and down I want it to go 3409rpm full time
Ohh noo!!! I make dribbles!!!

How come your next step is 1.75v? Default for that processor is 1.65v so the next step should be 1.675v. If it is already at 1.725v this could explain why your temps are high.

I run mine with Vcore set at 1.75v (according to the mobo setting, 1.76v according to Asusprobe) in order to achieve stability. Currently running with temps of 47C/25C (100%usage) with the cover off. My water cooling has arrived so hopefully much lower temps and less noise soon.

Abu - we are overclocking cpu chips here, not memory. How can increasing Vdimm have any effect whatsoever? Vdimm increases are for overclocked memory. And it seems pointless to increase processor performance then throw all the work away by running memory asynchronously.
