    That icon appears for any USB device which could cause problems if you unplug it while it's reading or transferring data. I have it for my SmartMedia card reader.

    There is NO WAY to remove it.

    Yes I know what it is and what it does. that application can survive without having to be in the system tray. Why MS put it there
