While those headphones can sound mighty impressive, nothing can beat separate speakers when it comes to Dolby Digital sound. It's only an illusionary effect you're enjoying so much.

I guess if you have to worry about bothering your parents than they're worth the cost.

    /my 2 cents.

btw everyone, Dolby processing is all the same. It doesn't matter if you have onboard sound or a sound card. It's all good. Once you have Dolby processing, speaker/amplifiers, processor speed and amount of memory play more of a factor in audio quality than anything else.

    peace.

    Well, doh.

You are comparing apples and oranges here.
If I'd been looking for a speaker system I wouldn't have purchased the headphones.
I would have gotten a nice surround sound home theater system.

Prolly would have run a bit more than $60 though.

i had a better trick: get a set of Sony headfones, and get 2 sets of earbuds.

    crudely drawn in paint:

the two light gray things are earbuds, partially under the cushioning.

i used a sony mdr-v150 for the cushioned stereo headfones, and two earbuds (mine were generic)

the three gray wires u see are all from a right side headfone/earbud. the other side has the left wires. i put the wire sets in shrinkwrap and each 1 plugs into a sound port on my sound card.

i love it rofl it does a kickass job with surround

    and i saved 100 bucks!

    im beast
