Im been an arse and quoting this from another forum:
WinMX has not updated its program since version 3.31 was released in October 2002. If they abandon their program then maybe the OpenMX project will turn it into an open source program. The developer of WinMX is Kevin Hearn of Frontcode Technologies. I hope he makes it open source if he decides to abandon it. How would a developer go about getting the code from a program that is closed source in order to make it open source?
also:
The domain www.openmx.org has already been purchased but nothing will be published there if the current owner of www.winmx.com/ renews his domain this october.
