    But the other one connects at only 36kbps or something like that, so he wants the 56k one to connect.

    If the modem came from your ISP when they came to set up your connection (if they did) then call them up and tell them your not happy with it, they&#39;ll deliver you a new one free of charge

    I&#39;ve done it.
    That was back before the good days of high speed mind you, but sure it works

    Why would you pay for a 56k modem for 300&#036;??? You could get a Cable modem for a year, and it wouldnt cost that much.

    The point is , that I bought the modem a few days ago.And I don&#39;t have enough money to buy a new one now.I am 17 and I am not rich. OK ?

    You just bought it? then return it it is probaably incompatible or broken, not worth trying to fix. Just get a different one.
