What is the nature and inclination of the party that the Liberals have teamed up with?

We have a Liberal-Labour coalition in Scotland and whilst not perfect is probably better than an either or situation.

So far, it appears to be the NDP, and perhaps the one independent seat. There's a recount happening in a few ridings where the results were very close (the NDP lost a riding in Vancouver by 45 votes), and if it turns out that they won, then there would be no need to court the independent. Otherwise, the Bloc might hold the balance of power.

However, if the NDP holds the balance of power (which they currently do), then they'll inject some social conscience into the Grits. Certainly not the ideal situation, but far better than Harper getting in.

the russians fall back, all the way to moscow

Ideally, it'd be an NDP majority with proportional representation.

    Well, I can dream.

Sounds like an ideal time to put your shoulders to the wheel, boys-grass roots, and all that.
