can you ping the site?
at a command prompt do
ping sitename.com
of course, put the correct site name & domain type.
if you get
Reply from (ip address)
Reply from (ip address)
Reply from (ip address)
then...you could try adding that ipaddress to your hosts file.
to use a proxy:
in Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings
Check the 'use a proxy server' box, and enter the ip address & port number of a valid proxy server.
there's a list of em here
EDIT: I'm able to get into the site with a proxy.
In my internet options, if i uncheck "Use Proxy" my settings will go back to normal right?
sometimes it happend to me when i want to accses some sits even FST, usually what i do is to use another proxy then i can accses them.
but its temp and never lasts more then 2 days, after that i can accses them normaly

I even tried some "ipconfig /flushdns" in the command prompt. Still doesn't work.

the problem is proxies are not as fast as my normal internet conenction.Originally posted by Sparsely@4 August 2004 - 05:33
well you said that ^ so what's the problem?EDIT: I'm able to get into the site with a proxy.
perhaps they've banned an IP range that is inclusive of yours?
who knows.....
and the only useful proxy help i got was from the guy who posted the link to free proxies on this site. however, those are never updated, and all the ones I have used become slow after a few hours. There appear to be no more I can use anyway on that page.

There is a list of proxies here on this forum
Clicky
Try changing them until you find one that works well for you. It is amazing the difference in some of them.
You should be able to get one which is as fast as being connected directly.
Remember just change when it gets slow again.
